A follow-up to the beloved horror-comedy “Jennifer’s Body” is reportedly in the works, nearly 17 years since the film first hit theaters in 2009. With production reportedly taking place in Vancouver starting October 2026, excitement is brewing among fans of the original film. Although an official announcement from the studio has yet to be made, industry insiders suggest that Megan Fox is set to return to her iconic role as Jennifer Check. Additionally, writer Diablo Cody and director Karyn Kusama are also expected to come back for this highly anticipated sequel.

While details of the plot remain a mystery, Kusama has hinted that the new installment will capture the same “fun and crazy” essence that fans loved about the original. Similarly, Cody has expressed her enthusiasm for revisiting the horror-comedy genre, which has only grown in popularity over the years. If everything goes according to schedule, the movie might be ready for a theatrical release by late 2027, though no official date has been confirmed yet.

Amanda Seyfried, who portrayed Anita “Needy” Lesnicki in the original film, has not been confirmed to return. However, she has previously shown interest in the idea of a sequel, especially if Megan Fox is involved. This hints at the possibility of Seyfried joining the cast once again, raising anticipation among fans who cherished the dynamic between the two lead characters.

Originally released in 2009, “Jennifer’s Body” tells the story of Jennifer Check, a high school cheerleader who becomes possessed following a botched satanic ritual, leading her to target her classmates. Although it didn’t achieve significant box office success initially, the film has since gained a dedicated cult following, particularly among horror enthusiasts.
