Efforts to bolster trade and investment relations between Oman and the United States have been a focal point of recent discussions, as both nations aim to expand their economic cooperation. Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Oman’s Minister of Economy, met with representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States during their visit to Oman to review the progress and future strategies for enhancing bilateral economic ties.

The discussions primarily revolved around increasing the presence of Omani exports in the U.S. market and encouraging American investments in Oman. The two sides also explored new areas of potential trade collaboration, seeking to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities to strengthen economic links.

Bilateral trade between the two countries has been significant, reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Key Omani exports to the United States include chemicals and aluminium, while vehicles and transport equipment are major U.S. exports to Oman. This trade dynamic underscores the mutual benefits and the importance of continued cooperation in trade and investment.

As Oman and the United States seek to deepen their economic partnership, the Oman Trade Office in the U.S. plays a crucial role in facilitating these efforts. The office’s achievements and future plans were also part of the dialogue, highlighting the ongoing commitment to fortifying economic ties and ensuring sustainable growth in trade relations.
